Before the Computer...

...we used typewriters. All through university I used an electronic typewriter to type papers for other students to make some money. Sometimes I would get essentially the "skeleton" of a paper with the expectation I would actually write it (NOT!). I could not resist however correcting really hideous grammar - it was the English Major in me. I can't say I am awfully careful these days with my grammar when blogging though (but I try LOL).
This ATC was created using a typewriter advert from an old Montgomery Ward catalog, a young lady from a dress pattern and another advert for wallpaper just to add a little colour.....Enjoy! Jewels

  1. Oh do I remember college with the typewriter. Mine was fancy, it had a white out cartridge that you could use for type overs on mistakes.

  2. Having gone to high school in stone age, I learned on a manual typewriter and was pretty darned good at typing on the thing. In the sixties when I went back to work, I was so worried about my Gregg shorthand and found it should have been the typing I had to become accustomed to. On the electrics, my touch was so heavy I had semi-colons and s's in everything for a while. However, I lightened up and was able to make the typewriter do what I wanted. Being a legal secretary, I did lots of typing and lots and lots of carbons copies. Whole different world. PS Julie, I love your card!!

  5. Lovely ATC, bringing back not-so-happy memories of typing lessons (manual and electric).
